Directing

An accomplished film and television director, Ben brings a deep and thorough process to each production, beginning with comprehensive script analysis, mood boards, world building, and enthusiastic collaboration with department heads. Ben prefers to plan the edit during pre-production, building efficient shooting plans that emphasize the unique natural qualities and dimensionality of each location. Every aspect of production is designed collaboratively to work in harmony around the picture's theme. Rehearsals with actors emphasize a thorough understanding of every beat of a character's journey, establishing a shared language early on that creates space for cast members to inhabit their characters and enable happy discoveries in front of the cameras. Ben's early experience as an Assistant Director now helps them execute ambitious visions on time, safely, and within the budget while on set. Their commitment to excellence continues throughout the post-production process, acting as the bridge to help the editor, composer, sound designer, and colorist create a unified, cohesive work. Finally, Ben's experience with fan engagement positions them to find and activate the right audience for each story, from the earliest public announcement through to each stage of distribution.
